A student wrote in 2007: Despite the horror
stories I heard about the National Psychiatric Unit in Honiara,
this is actually a very well run facility where staff have very
modern attitudes to the patients and their conditions, they were
extremely welcoming and allowed me to join ward rounds and
interview patients.

A student wrote in 2007: BH Transit accommodation (or
Ethel's place) is where I stayed and I would strongly recommend
it, the family who own it are wonderful kind people and went out
of their way to make me feel welcome. It does have some issues
with water supply but a tank was being built during my stay so
this should not be a problem in the future.
